This is the story of who these two strangers met--a classic modern-ish love story.
Anna committed to JMU for one reason only--to play soccer for their highly achieving team and to met other girls who loved the sport as much as she did. Eric sent his deposit to JMU 2 weeks before the deadline without thinking, mainly because his first choice of ASU rejected him 2 days prior. Both had zero interest in dating while in college because of the rigorous academics the business school there promised, which they both planned to be apart of. College provides an experience of a lifetime, filled with joy and personal growth, both in which Eric and Anna would benefit from. But what they didn't know was that this was where they would meet each other and eventually get married, years later.
Eric and Anna's story, unfortunately, doesn't start at JMU. Anna's soccer schedule and Eric's frat boy lifestyle led them both on different paths, so they never actually met. However, they both applied to the same company, called exec, for their first jobs post-grad. Unlike a traditional romance movie where it's love at first site for both, that was far from the truth. It had been a long Tuesday afternoon, and Eric was preparing paperwork for his upcoming resignation as he began to transfer to a new job at USA Today. As he walked to his bosses desk, he noticed that another person had also placed the same form he had on the desk. On the top line, next to the word name, was someone named Anna. Eric thought nothing of it and just placed his form on the desk and walked back to his desk.
Now, the moment we have been waiting for, the meet cute!
It had been a late night at the NYC USA Newspaper office, as the whole finance team had been working since 7:00 am to figure out where the monthly budget cuts could be made. Eric and Anna were assigned as "partners" to run the numbers for the sports department, they had barely made eye contact, outside of small moments to communication to cross reference answers. At around 8:00 pm, there boss finally called it a day and allowed for everyone to go home. Eric, without hesitation, asked Anna if she would want to go the nearby La Grande Bourherie for dinner, and she accepted, because she was hungry too.
And the rest was history--right??
Sort of--they ended up not dating until 2 years after that dinner because Eric become too obsessed with the Jets football team and Anna hated that. However, after that period, they dated for 6 years until getting engaged and married. From there, they would go on to travel the world together and eat different kinds of exotic foods, and enjoy each others company. While no kids became apart of the picture, they were so greatfull that fiances, of all things, brought them together all those years later.
