George Washington Invades January 6th

On January 6th 2021, at 12:01am, the unexpected took place....

George Washington (George) had been buried at his family home in Mount Vernon, Virginia (VA) for over 200 years. Millions of people visited his tomb there daily and admired the many portraits and statues of him. On this day, in particular, something felt off in the tight airholes of his tomb. As a Mount Vernon security guard entered his burial site for a nightly spot check, George Washington appeared outside his tomb, alive and well. The employee was so stunned that they didn't even see George walk out into the night. George did not care to address the suddenness of his appearance after decades of being dead; the USA needed him.

Miraculously, George somehow remembered overhearing tourists talk about this city called Washington DC (DC), and he was determined to see it for himself. Therefore, he embarked on a 19-mile nightly stroll to DC along I-395. Because it was the middle of the night, the highway was quiet, so it felt rather peaceful, despite the bad energy in the air. Six hours later, he arrived in D.C. and was immediately impressed by its extensive coverage and landscape. But two major things that he had never seen prior to the 1700s were cars and cell phones. Unaware of what they were, he just noticed that they were everywhere and being used by almost every person he saw.

As he wandered deeper in DC, the sounds of cars driving by and people talking were replaced by immense shouting and chanting as George walked towards the National Mall. It was overflowing with millions of people all walking towards a white building with a massive dome, with signs and flags in hand, otherwise known as the US Capitol (Capitol). George was shocked as he had fought for democracy in the US, and this protest was a direct attack against that. What especially bothered him was that many of the flags shared the same colors as the US flag, which he felt was a violation of the values of the USA. These people have zero respect for the work he had achieved, and made democracy look like a joke. Had people forgotten the values of the US Constution?

George's emotions fueled him to enter the massive crowd of protestors as he attempted to scream louder than them to maybe get them to stop and listen to him. This failed miserably as everyone ignored him and continued to walk close to the capitol. Since he was unable to override their voices, he tried to leave the crowd, but kept getting pushed back in like an ocean's rip current. It was in that moment that George realized that he was forced to be one of them, despite his hatred of them. He grabbed an American that someone had mistakenly dropped on the ground began the walk towards the capitol.

As George began to be forcefully pushed closer towards the Capitol, he realized that he was insignificant in comparison to the hundreds of protestors present. He was also overwhelmed by the amount of cell phone bright screens and loud chanting that made it impossible to hear himself think. These people had taken on an extreme version of modern rage, which was unpromoted and fueled by strong emotions, not logic. Disillusioned and heartbroken by this madness, George turned his back on the capitol and began walking away from the protesters. Unfortunately, the police had been arresting protestors, and they unknowingly arrested George moments later. Unable to recognize him, the police dragged him onto a massive bus and left him to sit while they collected other people. It was in that moment that George knew that everything he had fought for had been diminished and would never be the same as it had once been. As the bus's door slammed shut, George stared at his fellow Americans who had lost their country's identity as the engine began to roll and drive away.
