*Please note--this link goes to my whole profile page BUT the focus for this assignment lives under the home, clothes, and working out boards* In my dream life scenario, I have such a vast amount of wealth that money literally buys me happiness. My home, for example, is located in either a forest or is lakeside, allowing for lots of natural light and land to built on. The home will have lot's of outdoor spaces, including a pool and/or a massive patio. The interior will include high ceilings, modern finishes, and accent wall pieces. Outside of the home aspects, I've always been a little drawn towards the idea of doing an Ironman and a marathon of some kind, primarily for the aesthetics and the high intestines. Somewhere in my home, I would find a spot to hang my medals. Lastly, my clothing choices would be reflective of being a tom-boy and incorporting neutrals into that style.
For this collage, I chose to use photos of treats (ie: cake and High Noon) from previous birthdays of mine, as a way to show them over the years. 3 of the 5 images shown are my personal images, while the other 2 are from Google. These photos together add to the context of the importance of birthdays, and how nuances can influence the type of desserts eaten. I found that the more personalized images had less of a performative design and showcased an exciting time in a child's life.
This 26.1 million dollar apartment located in Eaton Square of the city of London is my dream home. The modern finishes across the apartment really stood out to me because of the simplicity yet charm, in that it's not all white and gray. I also loved the exterior photo, which reminds of historical london charm. Along with that, the outdoor spaces are massive, which in a city can be very hard to find, especially for that size. Lastly, I've always wanted to live aboard and this apartment could be a great fit for that, if I had the money to buy it (which I do not).
Growing up, summer day camps were a standard for me and my siblings to attend. Many of these camps featured sport related activities and swimming--all in which I struggled with. However, zip-lining was one of the few things I really enjoyed because of it's low effort and speed. Going from platform to platform by myself felt more relaxing then being accused of being unathletic or bored in a pool. It allowed for me to shine and have fun without the pressures of rules or being understimulated.
My photos are linked above.
1. (Nightingale)--Growing up, I would always read books after late night soccer practices to help relieve the stress of my aching body and mind. As a little kid, the classics by Dickens and Austens were instant hits, as they visuals of old England and women's daily lives felt comforting late at night. When I had my own children, years later, I would constantly trying to encourage them to read these same books, yet they always complained about the slow pacing. However, when cleaning out my parents home, I found the Nightingale, shoved under my old soccer jerseys in a closet. I grabbed it, and took it home to my children, who eventually would go on to read it, love it, and carry it onto their own kids.
2. (Poem)--The days of the week have always had certain personalities and emotions connected to them, solely based on their order in which they occur. Monday's are commonly dreadful and ignorant because it brings rude awakenings and baggage for the rest of the workweek. Tuesday is Monday's sibling in that it also brings an underlying despair towards a now frequency of chaos. Wednesday brings hurdles of woe that feel preventative towards reaching the end of the week. Thursday is full of perseverance , because no one likes Thursdays as it feels like a never ending long haul. Friday acts as the complete opposite because it brings a loving and relaxing nature to a rather difficult week. Saturday embraces Friday's emotions and turns it onto better sleep and jumping for joy over a reset day. However, when a child is born on a Sabbath day, otherwise known as a reset day, its exciting and reliving to know that a child was born under zero stress.
3. (Drawing of Girl)--My drawing of the girl with an airpod is representative of how people use airpods to cancel out the world around them and channel their emotions towards songs. The girl is crying while having these voices in her tell her they she messed up, and that how a boy never thinks of her the way she did. I think it encapsulates well how in society we have lost touch with sharing emotions have restored to our minds and songs as our therapists. I certainly am someone who has done this, and continues to. I do think this needs to change through reinvigorate the real human connections we used to strive for.
4. (Sunshine)--There is an amazing quite magic that only occurs when the sun shines down onto the Earth, as it brings happiness, and color into a grey world. The people leave their homes to embrace nature and it's offerings. People smile more and transition into a leisurely mentality of taking things slow and enjoying the world around them. The birds chirp loudly and people take a moment to pause and wave to them as they fly across the sky, or from one perching spot to another. Furthermore, the sun shine is truly a gift from mother nature that should be savored.
